Position: Software Development Engineer
Targeted Hiring Date: April 2009
Description: Work in a small fast paced technical group defining, developing and testing prototype hardware/software systems for the USG. Closely interface with electrical, mechanical and other software engineers during all phases of development cycle. Design, code, debug, test, and document application software primarily in C/C++ in accordance with established development processes and standards. The applications may include device control, real time data acquisition, data analysis, display modules, and graphical user interfaces. Provide weekly status updates to the project manager on milestones. Provide technical inputs written monthly status reports.
Requirements: The successful candidate will possess as a minimum a BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Applied Mathematics, plus 5 years experience or an MS plus 3 years experience designing and implementing C/C++ applications. Expertise in the use of Microsoft Visual Studio and/or .NET required. Experience with UNIX and Linux systems is a plus. Candidates must possess excellent communication skills and experience developing User and Programmer’s Manuals. Applicants must be US Citizens eligible for obtaining a security clearance and will be subject to a government security investigation. Applicants with active security clearances preferred.
